Isaiah’s birthday weekend was FULL of celebrations. The day of his birthday we started with giving him ‘cake’ at breakfast. Since we were having cake on the weekend I made zucchini banana muffins for his actual birthday. In Isaiah’s mind birthday= cake= candle so I think we succeeded by having something he could blow out. And something cake-like that he could eat.
The big adventure of the day was going to visit the horse that Isaiah loves! Lexi. Amanda has been riding Lexi for nearly a year now and we’ve taken Isaiah to meet her a couple times. Isaiah spends LOTS of time talking about Lexi and asking Amanda how Lexi is. It’s been a while since Isaiah last saw Lexi and he was THRILLED to see her again. He got to pet Lexi, feed her carrots, help brush her, and watch Aunt Amanda ride.
On Saturday morning we had a group of Isaiah’s friends over to celebrate… race car themed. He was so excited to have his friends over “for cake” that even though his friends were playing all around he didn’t really leave this chair until we had cake and put it away.
Grandma said, “close your eyes Isaiah”, and she removed a couple puzzle pieces to let him put the puzzle back together. Isaiah walked around serving everyone cake, piece by piece. And when a piece of icing fell off the cake onto the plate, he scooped it up immediately! What a full birthday celebration weekend. Such a joy to celebrate our awesome two year old!
