Brielle’s Baptism

DSC_7349“You belong to Him”

On March 22, 2015 Brielle was baptized. It was a beautiful service as we stood witnessing the work that Christ did on the cross for us, for Brielle. It was such a special moment affirming the promises that God made to us in our baptism and then accepting and receiving His promises to Brielle as He adopted her into His family.

Our little family was a bit chaotic up there — Isaiah not wanting to stay in Daddy’s arms and Brielle wishing she was sleep. But it was so right, just the way it should be– not in the orderly, perfected sense but our whole busy little family swallowed up into this love story in Christ– not because of what we do or the words we say or how hard we perfect this whole thing, but because of Christ in His infinite, overflowing, abounding GRACE!!!

I was overwhelmed this whole day by what God has done FOR us. We were physically surrounded by representative family and friends that could be here with many others from far that wished they could be. It was a special day of knowing that while we promise, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to do everything in our power to raise Brielle (and Isaiah) to know their Heavenly Father, we are so thankful for many others who promised to support us and her.

Here’s the video of the baptism:

And the photos to remember this special day.

— Brielle’s song: “Keep Her Near”

Jesus keep her near to your heart
For within You she is found
Draw her in the tide of Your will
Lead her as she yields herself to You

Keep her near Your heart
Keep her near Your heart

Draw her in the place where You are
For Your presence is her joy
Keep her in Your shadow, oh Lord
Give her grace to follow where You lead

Keep her near Your heart
Keep her near Your heart
